(Gotta cut down the word count for these post titles…)
Here are the facts: I love granola. Kenny loves granola. Granola can be expensive.
Also, there’s a limit to how many times one can accidentally purchase Kashi Go-Lean Crunch thinking it will taste like delicious granola only to be disappointed.
Our favorite granola is Good Life Granola which began in Holland, MI, the good ole’ hometown. But it is pricey. So we limit our intake and try to survive by making our own.
Which, as it turns out, tastes pretty incredible as well.
Easy Granola Recipe Without (too many) Weird* Ingredients
2 cups oats
1 cup shredded coconut
¼ cup wheat germ (weird ingredient–I often leave this out. Don’t tell, please)
1-1 ½ cup slivered almonds
1 teaspoon salt
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk
pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg too–optional
Combine ingredients in a large bowl. Spread on a shallow pan (cookie sheet with edges) and bake 35-45 minutes @ 300 degrees, mixing it every 15 minutes. Devour quickly once cool.
*Weird, as in weird to me. Perhaps the granola recipes from Pinterest with a bajillion healthy things in them that I’ve never heard of isn’t weird to you–in that case, I give you my blessing to add all the weird ingredients to your granola you would like.
