Our wedding is in 2 months and 11 days.
YIKES.
There are a bajillion projects that are constantly swirling around in my head that I’d like to do for the wedding. Unfortunately, I think I have my hands full with just getting the basic things in place for the wedding, so we’ll see how many I get to. But there are a few things that I’m super thrilled about.
Two words:
Brooch.
Bouquet.
Totally trendy right now, but I am fine with that because I’ve never been to a wedding where the bride’s had one. Mine is fully made, though it is likely not in its final form because I can’t stop tweaking it. And I’ve already spent HOURS on this thing. At the moment, it has 78 brooches/large earrings in it, which makes it weigh a ton.
I LOVE IT.
The best two things about it:
1. It is made of things that are very special to me, like the Noah’s Ark pin that my grandma gave me at my confession of faith, or the brooches from my grandma’s and great grandma and aunts and mother-in-law.
2. I get to keep it! Forever. Ken will be thrilled. I am thrilled because it is the type of decor item that could also beat off any intruders.
No picture for the blog though! Come to the wedding. Or come to the blog after the wedding, where I have grand plans to reveal it all. (HA. Let’s see if I even remember if I have a blog in 3 months).
Other than the bouquet, I’ve been furiously sewing bridesmaid dresses. Here’s the pattern:
Yes. Very trendy. But I would say that the final version will be quite different than pictured above (hint: no ruffles).
Also, this is my sewing machine. By “mine”, I mean that this is the type of sewing machine that I kidnapped from my parent’s home:
It is from the 1950s and only sews forward and backwards. Except mine has problems and throws up when it goes backwards.
annnnnnnddddd….end of update.
